Across NYS, nearly a quarter of a million acres on 115 individual Wildlife Management Areas are stewarded by NYS DEC. As part of a management strategy, (Young Forest Initiative) Access and Public Use Plans (APUPs) will be developed and offered to the public for review. The first of these APUPs has been completed for the Tioughnioga Wildlife Management Area (WMA).

NYS Trappers should review these APUPs and comment on the plans. Remember these will be the Access and Pubic Use for the next 15-20 years!! Trapping needs to be a part of that use… IMO this one for the Tioughnioga looks pretty good, but be sure the ones in your area are not just about other user groups!!!
