Great pics everyone please keep them coming with any tips you may have for someone just starting out I took a few pics of the stars that turned out alright but I can't get them to go through so maybe I'll be able to later My advice would be to take as many pictures of as many things as possible and only shoot in manual mode. Take multiple pictures of the same subject and change your iso, shutter speed, and aperture so you can see how changing each one affects the picture. Once you understand it, you can take pictures based on what your trying to accomplish with each.

Take multiple pictures of the same subject and change your iso, shutter speed, and aperture so you can see how changing each one affects the picture. Once you understand it, you can take pictures based on what your trying to accomplish with each. yep, a smaller aperture (f16 or 22) gives more depth of field, which we want sometimes, but it takes a longer exposure (like 1/30 or 1/15 of a second) a larger aperture (f4 or 2.8) has less depth of field (area in focus) which we may want at times as well and takes short exposure (time..like 1/250 of a second) A sturdy tripod, NOT CHEAP, is required for exposures slower than 1/60 or 1/125 of a second. Learn to push the exposure button SLOW, so you don't wiggle the camera.

No fancy camera but I will only add, patience is your friend. I took this and thought I got the shot of the day. Stood there for a few minutes and this one unfolded.
