My compost stays untouched and I think it's from being careful about what goes in it and adding green and brown yard waste and urine for nitrogen if my timing is good. Between the chickens, 2 dogs and meticulous recycling we've all but eliminated waste going to a landfill site. Half a small grocery bag most weeks for a family of five and sometimes more with the boys girlfriends around.

Red oaks are at about 40% around here.
Whites, mostly burr oaks, slim this year around here.

Last year was 100% on reds and zero on whites.
Go figure...

I have one at my mail box that has been dropping for three weeks. It is in the white oak family and the acorns are tiny, half the size of a dime. Caps are still on the acorn. What do y’all think it is. Western N.C.

WE had a hard freeze here may the 4 or fifth . 19 degrees!!!! Almost al the apple crop was wiped out. The oak got hit also. PLUS when they started to pollinate we had several days of ran. I've heard that oaks need dry days to pollenate

Corn sales for deer is all but eliminated by our DNR. Followed by our IDIOT Governor we have here, she'll probably stop all hunting seasons because of Covid-19. mad

Unless of course your children or grand child wants to hunt in late September Youth, or the Freedom hunt for disabled Veterans then you can bait for that hunt.

CWD doesn't affect the deer in that few days of those seasons. crazy

If the acorns don't drop much this year its going to be tough sledding for Michigan deer.

Not very good here. Had an Old Timer tell me years ago that if we get a heavy rain betweeen May 8- 10 there will be a poor acorn crop. Didn't pay it much attention until last couple years and seems to have some merit to it.

Could be several Chas.
Pull off a leaf and post it’s photo.
And tell us if there’s a hair coming out the end of each lobe. Like black or scarlet oaks have.
