Plan to wear a nice shirt and find a bunch of flower vases to keep all those flowers. Wife is out of town until October 1st. Bet lots of the flowers will be dead by then. She will really be surprised to see our new truck and ATV at the backdoor. Need a garden tractor for food plots. Will need a nice enclosed trailer as well.

If I owned PCH, I could show them how to save lots of money. An extra prize this year is $1000 per day for life. It they leased 10 acres in Alaska and an old airplane, and awarded those to the winner. They might not have to pay that daily bonus more than a few months.

Isn't it a shame that no one has ever won anything ever from PCH , a older friend of mine just about fell hook line and sinker for the line of BS they were shoveling by nearly spending a bunch of money he didn't have because he received a letter saying he was going to be receiving all this money a week for life !

Sadly I broke his bubble and showed him the websites that showed the true results.

Can you post a link to those sites? It has obviously always been a scam but I never knew there was actual info about how much of a scam. You have made me curious..

My neighbor a few years ago ( Ed MacMahon was still alive) got a letter that he was one of 3 finalists. Then a phone call. Told him to have a party and have people over they would reimburse him. The day of the reveal we were all partying pretty good. A truck pulls up and a couple of people get out and come up to us all sitting around. They asked for my neighbor. They told him he didn't win the grand prize, but handed him a check for $500 for the party. Surprisingly the check was good. I think he ended up with about $1000 worth of useless gadgets when it was all said and done.

He said when the people called him they made it sound like he had won the grand prize, and he was going to be rich beyond his wildest dreams.

Last year or the year before on here one of the members posted that an elderly lady he knew won the grand prize or the million dollar substitute prize. I think it was from Michigan. The odds are long no doubt. It's something like 2.4 billion to one for the grand prize. My wife and I have gotten small checks from the $10 to $25 and only a few. It's nothing I'd count on winning though.

I got a check for $10 from them once years ago. It was like 19th place or something. I figured it just about covered all the postage stamps I bought to send in the mail-in entries I had sent.

However , looking at the odds and calculating statistics from the from the data , it is more likely spending $1 towards a normal Powerball ticket has a better chance than the equivalent postage/entry would be slightly better odds.

There is a great movie named Nebraska that features a father and son. The father is convinced he has won and needs to go to Lincoln NB to receiving his winning. The father has severe dementia. Finally the son drives his dad to Lincoln in an old pickup. The movie is priceless, especially if you have aging parents.

If I ever win one of those big prizes I plan to invest my winnings on Copenhagen, live music, and red heads but I will probably just waste the rest of it. whistle

I have gotten a phone call twice from Jamaica saying I won second place. When I asked the guy if I got a big check and balloons he said no. I then asked why publishers clearing house was calling from Jamaica and he hung up on me.
