Maybe they are just out for a quick buck. Or maybe it's the limits put in place by the left's environmentalist not allowing proper forest management for decades. They put every fire out asap and allowed no controlled burns
or forest management for years instead of controlling it and allowing it to burn up all the excess fuel. Over several decades that fuel has been building up so now the fires are bigger hotter and faster making them harder to put out.

As far as I know arsonists don't have any particular political alignments. They're just plain nuts. But most of the arson fires have been fairly small and put out rapidly. Most of the major ones had natural causes, or are still under investigation.

And once again all the crap about Antifa being involved in the majority of Oregon's fires is utter nonsense and not supported by the facts at all. Every major law enforcement agency in the state has stated that much. 911 centers are being swamped with calls about this Antifa conspiracy theory when the lines need to stay open for real emergencies.

In Oregon we're getting our butts kicked with these fires and the last thing we need is conspiracy theories panicking people.

I have a conspiracy theory for you, they fired the Oregon state Fire Marshal this morning. Must have something to do with only having 3,000 fire fighters on the fire lines. Maybe he wanted to add more or lay some off or they need to start lining up fall guys from the political fallout from what is about to come. Arson arrests made already almost guarantee there will be more to come.

Terrible what everyone out there is going through. From the outside looking in it seems like a lot of tree hugger regs a mostly to blame. Hope the best for all involved.

I haven't kept up on fire marshall politics since the 80's -- but they were a joke then-- when I was going through my training the first year we had 2 fabulous instructors. one had his own wildland firefighting company which participated heavily in the yellowstone fires, and a texan that was primarily a haz-mat guy . The wildland guy saw the writing on the wall and decided to retire. They brought in two twenty something educated idiots from the state fire marshalls office to replace him -- long story short they ran of the remaining instructor and pretty much killed that program. So if you want a city fire investigated - theyre good (top notch fire investigators---- at least in the 80's) anything else non- political they aren't good for much.
