When home am paper towl an clean out shoe reads, got suck do that an just trump on in an take off steel toe work boots, carpet up steps, is ruin oil an grease, disgusting, I find little sharp pieces metal occasionally carpet or floor mat pickup , not mention oil an slick up gas, brake, clutch pedal, wipe floor mat on grass. When get out, wouldn't be good to catch sharp piece small metsl barefoot nite. Deep or get water mattress. Tromp in, or worse yet a dead house cat. From get food bowl, I would blow up an quit the job, get be disgusting. An sick it, cloths black oil , dirty I worked in a foundry for a few years pouring molten metal, and believe me,,thats about as hot and filthy a job as you can find.Only difference between that job and yours is,, I didn't gripe about it every day.I did my work and was happy to get the paycheck.

My parents taught me to ALWAYS take off my shoes at the door. To not do so is pure laziness. Maybe you should get a few metal slivers in your feet that'll learn ya! I worked a farm and construction my whole life with a stint in blacktop and came home filthy. Come home, take off boots, strip down, and jump in the shower. End of problem

Dave ~ Is it possible for you get a locker where you work to put your boots and work clothes in? I'm sure you're not the only employee there that has this same kind of problem, so maybe all the employees could get together and ask your boss for lockers. Just a thought.

I have a breezeway thats usually 5-10 degrees colder than the outside temp and I aint freezing taking my boots off I dont care how lazy it is, Seen times when I had to thaw out first before I could take off my pants. But yes, in mild weather it is doable.

All shoes come off before coming inside.
When I worked in a distribution center I would always leave work boots in the garage.
When I worked around a lot of fuel and such I would wear a pair of cover-all’s over my work clothes, I would take them off before getting in the truck. I would then at the end of the week, take them to the cleaners or a laundromat.
Sane when I was a paid firefighter/EMT, clothes changed before leaving work, took them to the cleaners at the end of the week, got them back nice and ready to go back to work.
Nothing went in the house.

An stand in crud It’s considered rude where I’m from to ask a man what he makes an hour. You just don’t discuss money. Every man makes a different amount and usually earns it. How is taking your boots off in the parking lot not a good idea? When do you want to take them off? Inside or outside? What does a ladder have to do with taking off your boots before going inside?

Even when I lived in an apartment building I wouldn't wear them in.

I seen my tracks on mat at postoffice. Today after work an exceptionally oil day, wonder if get trouble for leave oil tracks on carpet at po? Probably not. But, next time you go in they will all be like, there is that slob who made oil boot prints on our carpet... sure hope we don’t ever lose his mail or important packages....
