i was camped with mac the diver and his family, drifter and yotetrapper at an nta convention one year long before he got on TV. He hung around us every night. Some of you may remember a guy walking around with a beer can mounted on his hat and a candle in it. That was him. I saw him again last year in MO. He is hard to talk to now for all the people that want to say hi after seeing the TV show.

He really is a true American character and an interesting fellow.

I think every convention after that we talked about that guy. None of us remembered his name. But he certainly left a lasting first impression. It was 2005 in Goshen....my first national convention. Not seen or heard of him since until last year.

He got that new hat at the convention from the fella who I got the skunk essence from.

Lot of neat stuff in there, the snapping turtle hide wallets was different, don't see those everyday, lol.
