I took about a 30 minute walk behind the house this evening and flushed a few birds. And "Elsie" even worked well on her 96th birthday. Those Featherweights are a joy to carry and shoot.

Ruffed grouse. I grew up hunting those in upstate NY. All I needed to do was to clear the edge of the lawn to be into birds. Western blue grouse and spruce grouse taste almost identical. Of course quail are super tasty also.

Any way you kill a grouse is good. They are the best eating wild bird for sure.
