I caught a red fox probably 20 years ago that stuck its head in a marten box. 120 bmi or duke. Not sure which now. Because of that pan the fox get its head in far enough the trap jaw was behind its ears. It wasn't dead but it couldn't go anywhere. I dont use them any other place but marten boxes. I rarely set a mink trap and for 110 in a rat run I never saw a benefit. Like drags though they really shine in SOME situations.

Have these pans seen any fur yet? I'm thinking about ordering a couple dozen but haven't seen much for real life reviews. Don Powell uses them and shows catches with them in his DVD Mink after mink on purpose.

I have used the 160's with the wooden pan from MTP and they suitcase civets. Which is fine for me. If I catch a civet by the neck about half the time they are still alive when I get there. I also catch the occasional cat with them and it seems to work just fine on them.

Making the wood ones is pretty simple. just I just cut pans out of corrugated plastic, the same stuff they use to make yard signs and such. Then just bend the trigger wires and slid them into the holes. Lightweight and cheap to make.

I have looked at these bg pans many times. They look low profile which I think would help a lot. Very curious to here how they work. I have some of the wood ones on some 120's and 220's. They work but take up quite a bit of space on the 120's though.
