It wont leak is very waterproof , but it is not very durable to sharp edges like split wood has. Will it work, yes. Is it the best option for the wood pile???? It is very noisy also when blowing in the wind.

Go to your local lumber yard and get the lumber wrap that their dimensional lumber is shipped to them in. They are usually more than happy to give you as much as you want to haul off.

If you have a bunch laying around you should sell it back to the guys that make the suits. We've been out of the suits for months here where I work due to the covid. Griz

I cover wood with the gray tarps. Better than blue yet not a bank-breaker. Wasteful, but better than wet wood. They last one season.

I've seen "Wrangell siding" (Tyvek) used as the primary siding on houses and it seems to last for years. LOL yes house wrap and blue tarps seemed to be the siding of choice around Tok and Delta Junction when I lived there. It will last quite a while when stapled to a flat surface as long as you keep edges from whipping in the wind.
