Puts them down right now without messing up a lot of meat with super fast bullet. Wish I still had it. I hope it's cool enough by you to give that elk a nice hang. Congrats and Bon Appetite.

They hunted them south of Winnipeg in the tall grass prairie near Morris MB. When they homesteaded our farm 1880's there was many sheds found and several were sent to the Museum of Man and Nature and were used in the sub-species description back in the day.
