Wolfdog91, Sounds like a deal. It is a great caliber and really fits in where other calibers don't. It has a low report when shot you don't get that craaack which can be helpful at times. It is an old caliber so with a modern gun you can get some really good velocities, I use little gun at just under 12 grains and a 40 grain spire point at 2900 fps according to the Speer Reloading manual #14. At 11 to 12 grains a round it is cheap to shoot. It's also a great walking varmint gun ie not heavy. It will handle coyotes if you do you're job and keep the range in about a hundred yards in my opinion.

for 135 I would buy it
the little H&R are nice
my great grandfather thought 22 hornet was the perfect deer hunting round
he never shot one anywhere but the neck
CFE-BLK takes 22 hornet to new velocities 45gr sp to 3000fps
for 135 and an ok scope you could have nice truck gun under 200

Jump on that like a duck on a june bug. If you don't like it would buy it from you. You can reload a long time on a lb of powder.

Didn't I sell you one like that at Mason City one year?? Agree they are a good round and cool historically. I have 2 now both bolt actions... Wolfdog. The barrel alone can get you close to 200.00 so if you don't like the caliber either trade it or sell and replace.

Sako22....
Can you put me in your will? I love pre 64 model 70's and that is one I'd kill to have.
I bet it shoots well too.
Pete Rifle was given to my dad when a family member passed away years ago. My dad just passed a couple months ago and now it's mine. When I go it will go to one of my kids. He had been offered some good money for the rifle over the years. And yes it does shoot good.

looks good
I think I would work up a load with the scope then I would be very tempted to try it with just irons for a while
those carry so Handi pun intended with just irons or a peep on the rear I like a nice peep sight. Williams makes a couple peeps for those

Wolf that rifle looks old enough to not have the transfer bar ignition safety but if it does don’t dry fire it as the toggle that raises the bar will break and put it out of commission. Don’t know what year they switched to that system but I have replaced several over the years. You can tell if it has that system buy holding the hammer back all the way and pressing the trigger . If a little flat piece moves up and down over the firing pin that is the transfer bar.

i had that in manlicher.... got stole out of my brothers truck.......id buy it in a heartbeat Had the same gun stolen out of my hotel room along with a colt SAA with ivory grips and full engraving, a while back I got a call from the police and they had my H&R that they had recovered after almost 30 years Really wish they would find my colt though it has a lot of memories attached to it of good times with a friend who’s no longer around and both of us learning to shoot with that old pistol
