I do . I'm on my 4 th Airedale, Wife grew up with them, that is how I ended up with them. I love them. All 4 have been different.

https://marketplace.akc.org/puppies...mp;radius=100&page=1&per_page=30

I found my last one using this.

https://traditionalairedale.proboards.com/ This is a good forum. there are guys from NY State on it. I image there are FB's on them also.

Our Airedale now ,"Annie", has never been crated or kenneled. First night home, she slept with my youngest son. She's really a human , that looks like a dog. She has qualities that my other ones did not have. But doesn't have somethings that some of the other 3 were good at. Each dog is different.

Shop, ask questions, tell the breeder what your going to be doing. Some breeders are strictly show dogs. Those breeders are of a different breed also, some of the conversations with them were not of the rural mind.

Have fun, they are an energy dog, They need a work out everyday and look forward to it.

STANLEY

Airedales are great dogs very intelligent, at least the ones I’ve been around.

We have had Airedales for over 50 years, hunted them---coons,cats,turkeys went on the trapline. This one we have now is a male I take everyday trails well and trees hard, follows a trapped animal he stays in the house. They're smart so if you make a mistake they'll remember a long time---can't not have one !

I just recently bought one at our state convention fundraiser auction. We have had her at home now for a couple of weeks and Seems to be pretty smart and a lot of fun. She was donated to the auction buy a member of our organization. He’s a breeder, and if I remember right he has 11 or 12 adults and swears there the best breed of dog there is. He has sold and shipped pups all over the country. If your interested in his name and number send me a pm

I've had them for a long time. They're great bear dogs and all around hunting dogs. Picking a new pup up next week.

I got 2 1 year olds. Smart dogs. My male tracked a couple coyotes on drags for me last season. Their noses are amazing.

Michael, I know the fella you are talking about. Met him at the Mn convention last year. He picked me out of a crowd because my dog looks so much like an airedale, actually she is half Jagt and half Airedale, and has turned into a great trapline dog. I saw him again at the Mo rondy in Chillicothe, and that's when I found out he was from Mo. Can't recall his name, but seems like a good guy and very knowledgable about the dogs!

That sounds like a great mix. I'd much prefer a good mix over most pure breeds.

We had Airedales when I was younger, both the Oorangs and silvers. For a true 100% hunting dog the Yacks (Jagdterrier) are better as they haven't hit the show ring yet (Show dog competition seems to dilute the original breed's purpose/characteristics from my side of the fence). Go to or call the local shelter and see if they have anything. If not in a hurry leave your name and # and have them call you when they get a candidate. And don't pull any punches --- say you will use the dog for what is intended (hunting, companion, guard, or what ever). Divorce, deaths, losing luster/cute puppy to rousing teen, cat haters etc., etc., cause a lot of dogs to be "deposited" at a shelter and there is nothing wrong with them. Some bad actors do get there too but the folks who run the place should know and can usually tell those types right off. You usually can find a young dog out of puppyhood that is accustomed to people so don't skip investigating the shelters before you buy one. I have had better trapline dogs in other breeds but the "big" terrier is OK too................. my take................... the mike

Lee sure looks like a cutie, I've got a soft spot for terriers but I have to have an Airedale.

Isn't the Airedale the king of the terriers?

Google 'King Oorang Airedales'. The bloodlines go way back. I currently have a male a female. The female is close to 80 pounds. The male is just now 2 years old and right at 100 pounds. I have had 3 dogs out of this bloodline, Best dogs I have ever had. Use on the trap line, and no one can mess with my wife or grand kids. Get them as pups and they always make sure they can keep on eye on you or the family.
