I load 43 different rifle and handgun cartridges. Most being rifle from 22 Hornet and 17 Rem to 45-120 and 50-140
I’ve got 19 RCBS, 19 LEES, 3 Lymans and 2 Hornady. The only complaints I’ve got are the Hornadys. Good thing they come with extra parts.

RidgeRunner, I don't have the tools to check runout but use the seat & turn technique and have found it improves the bullet seating depth consistency.

James, I tried neck turning but didn't find any improvement in accuracy. Further reading on the subject suggested neck turning could be counter productive unless you have a premium match grade barrel with a tight chamber. Unless the chamber is tight at the neck, removing material from the neck just increases the extra space available for misalignment.

I have found when measuring OAL the bullet can be the culprit in a few thousandth's difference. The seating die doesn't push on the tip. Those exposed lead tips are the problem. Lead is so soft they get slight deformities. Seating for distance from lands, makes recreating a load after adjusting for a different bullet, a real challenge sometimes. Some lead tip bullets, like nosler partition are pretty consistent though.

How much effect does different brands of brass have on concentricity?

Danny, you can buy aSinclair bullet comparator for $20 at Brownell’s that will eliminate the variables for seating distance from the lands. Put your bullet in a dummy round and into the comparator and measure the OAL with the comparator included. This will give you true measurements off the ogive every time no matter what bullet you use.
