when you say it would be OK for one candidates name on the side of a hill but not another , that is censorship that is not freedom of speech.

Could be. Could also be that the sign violates rules about signage along that highway. There are rules on that dating back to at least Lady Bird Johnson and the Highway Beautification Act.

Even under those conditions due process still applies.

Maybe we could get enough money out of Mexico to pay for the rest of the wall that hasn't been finished yet and to go around that crap hole!

The story doesn't say whether the private property owner wanted to keep the sign.

And a sign has no right to due process. No one has stepped forward to claim responsibility for the sign.They would have a claim only if the land were public property, and they were being treated differently from other sign-posters. Or if they had the private owner's permission.

An important piece missing from the story is whether the posters had the property owner's permission.

Second, did the sign violate highway sign regulations that are enforced impartially. E.g., they remove Biden signs too. I suspect they do.

You raise a good question. Was the sign erected with the property owner's permission.

If so then in any jurisdiction the process is still nuisance abatement, usually a citation with a deadline to correct the abatement, failure to comply resulting in a court date where a judge or magistrate determines penalty and corrective measure. No where I'm aware of authorizes entry onto private property and removal without due process unless the governing statute authorizes action in the face of imminent harm.

If not then the property owner has action for trespass against whoever erected the sign but the state still can not enter unless invited to do so by the property owner. The video does not make that claim.

The sign was removed by authorities because of fear of fire danger. Maybe later today I'll look at a GIS and see who owns the land.
