Another 14 last night, plus another otter and another rat. Not bad. With the heat previously they were completely ignoring castor sets. Quota for one line done. Over 30 beaver on two checks, line pulled. Some skinning ahead of me.

Great catch! I dreamed for a split second that we had beaver numbers like that. I really enjoyed trapping them. I came to my senses rather quickly though and am thankful we don’t.

Good year this year. I didnt set half of the houses on my line. Way better year than most. i dont think there were any wolves in the islands this year.

If that's a beer keg in the background you should be prepared for the skinning ahead. Lol. I dont even drink. That keg is for filling with sand and lifting and carrying so I will not be dead after a week of beaver trapping.

Sounds like you need to get a hold of Black Bart and get your beaver quota significantly raised.

[quote=Hutchy] Sounds like you need to get a hold of Black Bart and get your beaver quota significantly raised. haha. I think it is fine as it is. Just a good year. i recall times when there were half the houses and I was scratching for sets. its totally a product of fewer wolves. Plus I don't want to bother poor Bart as he is likely really stressed out working from home with his feet up, drinking cold ones and taking naps.

Looks like you are going to be busy. After this weekend here I can get at it. It is hard to get on peoples land before and during the firearms deer season. Looks like the weather might hold out for a while yet. Good job on the catch!! i usually wait till the end of deer season, but the past few years have been getting screwed because the pods freeze up mid november. heck with that.

I hunted islands on the bay south of you in the first week. Our 2 best islands, infested with wolves and no deer.

Nice Haul Hutchy. If I was closer I'd pop over and skin a few with you.
