The Oakley Plainsman football team just won their first SubState Championship tonight and are headed to the Kansas State Championship game in Hays next Saturday. Tonight they beat Inman, 13-0, who whipped on them several weeks ago at their Homecoming game. Last week they beat the Smith Center Redmen, a perennial KS powerhouse 20-0. Smith Center won the first meeting in conference play 42-14. We have a great bunch of seniors, surrounded by a strong group of sophomores and juniors. The coaching staff is a group of guys that you want to have around your kids. We are really blessed.

Anyone that wants to can watch the games off the archives of openspacessports.com, You can also go to the TEAMS tab and find them from there. Our commentator is a very unlikely character who works at the local dollar store but is really good at calling a game and is BIG fan of the local kids.

Yes, I'm bragging a bit, but it sure feels good to have good bunch of kids have some success and represent your community.

I swore off watching all the kneelers and protesters in pro sports, and was fortunate to have winner to cheer for in the hometown team. GO PLAINSMEN!!!!!!!
