is it just me or does the selection in gloves just seems to stink in the last several years you would think the people making gloves never wore them to do anything outside int he cold.

your options are plastic , another type of plastic or some sort of plastic lined they seem to be trying to get warmth with less air flow or some sort of poly fleece.

I used to have some lined leather gloves that I liked they were warm over time they wore out and i wasn't able to find the same thing to replace them.

I have found a solution I buy xxl leather gloves then the wool glove liners at the army navy not to bulky easy to take apart and dry if needed

decent dexterity so many gloves are too puffy you can hardly get your finger in the trigger guard.

if it isn't very cold out just the yellow cotton chore gloves inside the leather gloves make a combo

I like a lightly insulated jersey glove with a cuff.
Even the Chinese don't seem to make them anymore.

Try the farm supply type stores they still have quality stuff but it’s not cheap I paid $16 for my last pair of leather ones unlined.

Not a glove wearer most of the time, normally i can get by with just white cotten roping gloves. I have 2 or 3 pair to get through a day incase they get wet. And one pair of soft leather thinsalate lined glovez if it gets real cold. Like driving a quad or something.

Unless the splinters just jump off i just dont care for gloves.

I wear the fingerless insulated ragg wool gloves for just about anything related to hunting.

I feel your pain lol if you want actual leather gloves lined with fleece you have to pay handsomely for it otherwise it's cheap crap at least around here I don't really use them but my dad dos have to order them if I want to get him something that's actually quality made

I found these glove outers at a sporting goods store in Plattville last year
wish I could find a few more to have them around for many more years I have a feeling they were new old stock

the other gloves I use most often are https://www.farmandfleet.com/products/g-401-work-n-sport-mens-creek-cow-split-gloves.html

the liners I get from an army navy in Janesville at 5.99 a pair for wool liners stopped and picked some up today while I was passing through.

X2 on farm supply stores.
Tractor supply has a decent selection. Last year I bought a 3 pack of lined leather gloves for $15.

Brown jerseys under a pair of welding gloves a size big works great.

My favorite winter work gloves above about -10f are an orange pair from Home Depot. They say Blizzard on them and have a handwarmer pocket in the back. They have just the right balance of insulation and dexterity for me.

I spend a lot of time in gloves sections looking for the right pairs to fit various needs in our family. Yes the selection seems to get odd over the years.
The marketing folks at Under Armor, Nike, and North Face must be geniuses the way the can coax masses of people into paying $50 to $100 for gloves that are touted to be thin but ultra warm. In reality though, my experience after buying a couple pair that were severely discounted and sold well after the winter season when they finally were in a price range I could palet, found them to be anything but what they were advertised to be. Might look OK with a dress coat for church, but not practical for anything else I needed them to step up for. My kids like them though I guess because of the big brand label on them but at least they are finding a home.
I buy a lot of my gloves at tractor supply and also ace hardware. Ugly, plain, but oh so functional.
Jim

it was warm today and I was busting through a swamp hoping to kick up some deer. got one moving but it didn't go to my son.

for days like today just yellow cotton chore gloves that are 12 for $17

if I am out half or all day with nothing on my hands my knuckles will all be bloody. it doesn't take a lot of glove to make that much better.

happy thanksgiving everyone , I am in for the day with a brandy old fashion and checking t-man

I like the thin cotton roping gloves for dexterity, and then if it’s real cold I’ll put mitten on over them and just pull the mitten off when I need my fingers
