I raised one as a pet years ago... Keith is right, temperature makes a big difference, they start going dormant and don't eat if it's too cold. Food wise, I don't remember real well. I want to say at that size it was frozen bloodworms from the pet store. Other worms or shrimp might be ok. I seem to recall him eating lettuce and other greens sometimes, but that might have been older.
When he got bigger I loved watching him catch and tear apart fish.

Sliders eat dried shrimp, mealworms, and pellets. Any per store should have turtle food. Need relatively warm water and a platform so they can climb out of the water and bask. Need proper light bulb to give them their sunlight requirements. Regular bulbs won't cut it.
