Found a couple Yote dens today, one has several holes going into a crushed and buried old farmhouse foundation. I hung some CR’s in near by trails leading to and from, does anyone approach these den sites differently. How would you set it and how close to the den? Flat Set? Dirt Holes?

Wouldn't figure they would be using a den this time of year. Maybe just checking for an easy meal? I'd probably put a couple different sets in since there is sign though, maybe a baited hole and a scent post.

Usually used by a different animal in the winter here.

If It's a coyote den then the coyotes will re visit that den site just about every time they are In the area.
Any kind of set will work around those dens. I have a couple of CRs hanging In trails near some dens.

Follow-up:
Took about a week but picked up this young female in a CR about 50 yards from the den... I brushed out the tracks in the den entrance and to Beav's point, they seem very inquisitive- based on the track positioning it doesn't appear their entering the den but approaching it like a dirt hole set.



Based on the level of interest- would anyone blend a set here?

Why do you think its a coyote den .In MN,you cant tamper with a den or trap it I believe .

If you don't, blow them up
Run them over
Use poison
