I believe the Army was giving up to $50K enlistment bonus for EOD techs within the last year or so.

The first time I was under CE was when I was at Eielson in 1987. Nothing changed, just a different boss.

My first reenlistment bonus as an EOD tech was just over 5 grand. Big money back in 1972 for an E-5.

It will catch up with the units when there is a major conflict and things will change back to holding a higher bar.

I remember the Air Force giving out nice bonuses for EOD work. They sure deserved it.

It would be hard to spend $5K with nubbs for arms!!!! On a serious note, would being an EOD tech help with getting a job on a police SWAT team?

I have no idea. When I retired, I was approached about doing explosive cleanup work in Kuwait, but I chose to go into full time beaver work. I think my choice was more funner.
