Thanks, I've been kicking around building one. I might start a new thread so it doesnt mess up Poscos. Won't bother me a bit if the thread takes a different direction, they almost always do. Great looking cabins posted up. I like the cordwood cabin, I came very close to building one of those. That might make for a great addition as an arctic entry.

Nice looking work, yukon. Did you use a drawknife or a bark spud to peel your logs? I used a bark spud. In the early days I used a drawknife to peel the logs, then again to take the cambium layer off. Then I got smart and bought a curved shoe power planer. Still used the drawknife to peel the bark, but the planer made the rest easier.

My long wall is thirty feet so I was dealing with logs thirty-six feet long all by myself. I used a gin pole to get the logs up. I used block and tackle which gave me that four to one advantage. I still had to enlist my tractor at times.
