I used to buy a lot of reloading stuff from Midway USA, but cut back after I had a problem with them last summer. (Which I posted about.) Now I'm done with them. I ordered a box of Sierra bullets, and when it arrived it said the bullets were for a nine-inch or faster barrel. My rifle's barrel has a ten-inch twist rate. Their product description does not say anything about a nine-inch limitation. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1482546904. In product descriptions for other Sierra bullets, Midway specifies the twist rate. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1018262551 If a twist limitation isn't specified, most reloaders would assume the bullets will shoot in any rifle. Midway's customer service tells me I have to pay shipping to send the bullets back. They can go pound sand. Jim

I'm confused why you need Midway to tell you what twist a bullet needs. In general, the lighter bullets for a caliber work with a slower twist. Heavier bullets for the caliber need a faster twist. Example, 223 bullets in the 50-55 gr. range are good with a 1/9 or 1/8 twist. Move up to the 60 to 70 gr. bullets and you would want a 1/7 for best accuracy. You should be able to pick the brand, type, and weight of bullets based on the gun you are reloading for and what you intend to shoot with it. Not relying on what the seller tells you. I'm sure some nice folks here would help you if you ask, even if you voted to have our guns and gun rights taken away over the next 4 years! You're confused all right. Did you even look up any reloading manuals for the .243? Nosler's manual shows 95 and 100 grain bullets used in a ten-inch twist. The bullet is too new for my Sierra manual, but they show other bullets in the same weight range used with no twist restrictions. This thread isn't about voting. Are you trying to get it deleted. Jim

Hornady's manual recommends a ten-inch twist on 95-100 grain bullets.

If your going to hunt with them I would shoot a few. They may shoot better than your expecting. I shoot 100 grain sierra boat tails out of my old sako 243. Put the same load in two different grandson's rifle's. All three shoot them just fine. Your bullet may be a little longer but You got nothing to lose by grouping a few.
My muzzle loader has a 1/66 twist said to be for round balls. With 115 grains, by volume, of P pyrodex (supposed to be pistol powder) it will shoot green belt bullets quite well.

Danny, you would try them even if the say, "9" twist or faster" on the box?
These bullets must have an unusually-long (for 95 grain) ogive.

What else you going to do with them? Might be able to trade or sell them I suppose. No sense in just putting them up to collect dust. Minute of antelope is still a pie pan sized group.

Well I read what sierra says Sierra has enhanced a segment of the MatchKing line by adding the acetal resin tip, thus crowning the Tipped MatchKing (TMK) bullet line. The major advantage of adding a tip to the bullet is the reduction of drag, producing a more favorable ballistic coefficient. Another benefit is reliable feeding in magazine fed firearms.
While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.
The #7295 was introduced in November 2015.
This bullet requires a barrel twist rate of 1×9” or faster.
$40.82 – $200.50 I did not realize they were designed for punching holes in paper. I guess that means back to selling or trading them. I hope you haven't opened the box

Yeah, I wanted them for target use.
I didn't check Sierra's website. I don't customarily check out a manufacturer when I see a product for sale.
Guess I should check all bullets before I buy them.

I just bought this .243 rifle. I thought ten-inch is standard for that caliber.

Let me spell it out, since you're having a hard time getting it.
The rifle is a standard Winchester Model 70 Featherweight.
I knew it had a ten-inch twist when I bought it. Most of my reloading manuals use a ten-inch-twist barrel in their load data.
What I didn't know was that this particular box of bullets requires a nine-inch twist barrel.
Midway should have disclosed that limitation (yes, it's a word) in its lengthy product description. In product descriptions for other Sierra bullets, they do disclose the required twist rate, if it's not standard.
Absent notice of the nine-inch limitation, I assumed the bullets were suitable for standard rifles, like my Winchester.
If it happened to you, you would complain. Because you don't like my vote (as if it's any of your business!), you won't concede I have a beef.
Jim
