Some have used them for beaver on drowners. Like a big longspring. I would not use them around people habitat. Out of the way places like national forest might be ok

Not a god idea south of it either...Body gripping traps are not well suited as foot traps...

If you want to catch an animal by the foot humanely-use a trap designed to do that-its called a foothold trap. With the magnum bodygrips there can be the very occasional catch by a limb. To set a bodygrip intentionally to catch a limb is retarded.For a lot of reasons.

I will do that In open water with 160s with the trap attached to a lath In the horizontal position. I attach a 4" piece of plasticized cardboard to the triggers to act as a pan. It's a real rat killer and all the rats are body caught. i wouldn't use it as a foot hold.
