Does any one remember Raymond Driscoll SR.? I found a memorial marker on a juniper tree in northern Lake county Oregon. I never met Him. I thought it was pretty cool too find a fellow trappers memorial marker at a bobcat set location.

I knew Ray Driscoll, tough old dude but a good trapper and also a big fur buyer. They don’t make men like Ray any more.

No his name was Marlin Riggs. Don't think Ray Driscal wasn't a government trapper he was a fur buyer and had log trucks. I sold him fur when I was a teenager, so that's been 50 or so years ago

Was Ray Driscoll SR the man who passed a few years ago, or was SR his father? Ray bought many furs from me at OTC sales. The last was two cats, $1627 each. I told him "thank you". He said, " no, thank you for bringing them in". He was buying and working the floor out of a wheel chair the last few years. Good, and tough.

There was a government trapper named "Sammy Shaffer". ( name corrected per super cub )He was around about that time also. Worked the central part of Oregon.

The marker I found was printed on a brass trap tag. It read Ray Driscoll SR. Oregon fur trapper, Oregon fur buyer, Feb 3. 1936 - Sep 17. 2014.
By chance, I met the man who placed it there. Dennis Curren a big time muskrat trapper from Klamath Falls. He said they where good friends and trapped together! Pretty Cool.

I remember the old government trappers name from Klamath County was Art Cooper. He would have been started in the mid 60s
