That's awesome I started trapping when I turned fifty and also like it. My favorite animal to trap is the FISHER. Looks like you have a great start. Thanks for sharing

How I got started trapping was my dad took me when I was just a couple years old and we trapped a ton of muskrats and he kept taking me and teaching me everything so now for the past couple years I’ve started going by myself and doing everything my dad has taught me and catching a lot of stuff! I love trapping pretty much everything that has a season on it but I’d have to say that beaver is my favorite

Hey my name is Sierra Hooper, im 14 years old, and im from UP Michigan. I started trapping with my step dad Mark when I was 6 years old. My favorite type of trapping is Coyote trapping and i also love Beaver trapping. I love to check traps everyday with Mark my step dad. I love moving the process forward with trapping. And its even better with all the amazing memories you makes while you trap. There funny, hard, fun, and upsetting moments ill never forget. I remember trapping when my little sister was in my mamas belly. Ive always been an outdoor girl and itll never change. God made amazing and beautiful creatures to harvest and put in your name. God bless and Merry Christmas!

My name is Tripp. I have started trapping this year. I am 7 years old. So far I have caught a red fox. One day I hope to catch a bear. I got started by asking if I could go and check the traps with dad.

From my son Jeremiah:

Hello my name is Jeremiah Webster.I started trapping ever since I was about 5 years old when my dad taught me how to trap.
He taught me how to snare first but later in the years I learned how to set conibears and such.
My brothers were a bit of a help when it came to helping me get animals out of the traps but other than that they were obsessed with getting more animals than me.
Being the youngest boy in my family,it didn’t take much for my older brothers to get more than me.
They were obviously stronger and smarter.
So I only tried my best to get Mink, because they are my favorite animal to catch and I could catch mink more than anything else I trapped.
My favorite moment I can remember
from trapping was in the Ouachita mountains.
It was our first day of checking the new line we had just set the day before, and I was the official checker for the day.
My father was driving up the slightly tilted incline until we hit a flat spot on the mountain.
I burst open the door and jumped out of the front passenger seat and was speed walking to the spot I had familiarized myself the previous day.
It was about 50 yards from the truck where we had set the traps(Irons).
They were set along an old ATV trail, but the path was blocked by a 3 foot dirt mound.
I jumped it with ease and walked down some yards til my body was just barely out of sight from my father and older brother(who was sitting in the back of the truck.)
I walked in the middle of the trail to the traps my brother and father had set,yet I foolishly was not watching in front of me.
I was watching my every step instead of looking at my surroundings.
Before I knew it I was at my brothers coyote set.
I look down and noticed the trap was missing.
Then I looked up and was never closer to wetting my pants in my whole life.
I jumped up and yelled out of surprise when I saw a beautiful grey fox staring and hissing at me.
It was not less than 2 feet in front of me on the trail’s levy’s edge.
My two companions heard my scream and saw me jump and came rushing to see what they the predicament was.
They arrived on the scene, laughing at my pitiful display of unmanliness, and admired and dispatched the critter.
This is my favorite trapping story because it reminds me that we need to always be aware of what is going on around us and pay attention to what’s in front of us before it gets too close.I guess it’s just my favorite because it’s a nice story to teach people to be heedful.

My name is Emma Pingel and am 9 years old. I like trapping because I get to be with my dad and outdoors. My dad first took me out trapping when I was 1, and I started setting my own traps when I was 5. I like to catch coyotes, beavers, fox and skunk.
I’ve been going to the trapping convention since I was baby. I like to do the trap setting contest. I’m still learning how to set some of the traps though. I also like to see the other new stuff there
