Thoughts on the 2021 AZ proposed trail cam ban?
Back in Dec the board voted it on the table. Now it’s on the commission desk. I got an email today stating to send an email to Rulemaking@azgfd.gov to comment on it. I sent one in stating I’m against it. Hate to loose a tool that I currently can use. Besides I heard and now have seen now it can prove that you didn’t make an illegal set.

I am not in AZ, but I have mixed feelings on them. I own a couple and use them occasionaly. I recently had an experience that has me rethinking the issue. I was checking my fisher traps a couple of weeks ago on public ground and noticed a trail cam pointing towards my trap. I never noticed it before, and never noticed new tracks going into the area. It could have been there all along, unoticed by me. However, I felt like I was being spied upon.

Just more nanny state.
If you want to use trail cams, use them. If you don't want to use them, don't use them. Seems simple enough, don't it.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

In kansas wildlife and parks use them to see if your checking your traps daily or who is running a trap if it's not tagged.

I have them and used em at my discretion. The chip type are prob the best compromise. And as far as I care the photos are public so check em if it’s there. Also can’t get to mad of someone takes it. That is unless it’s considered part of the trap set. Then whom ever messes with it may be on the hook for trap tampering here in AZ.

I could see trail cam use being restricted on public land....but not private land.
Here in Ga you aren't allowed to leave stands on certain wildlife management areas after the hunt dates.
USFWS has similar rules about leaving any personal property on areas allowing hunting.
