I checked around the net last night for .308/7.62 Nato...

Best price I found was 80 cents a round. It went up from there. Average was a $1.00+

Insane.

I was out at Fleet Farm about 2 weeks ago or more and they ONE box of .308 (180 gr) and they wanted $49.95 for it. Laughed out loud in the aisle, then cried.

P.S. My brother used to shoot a 20mm Vulcan cannon out of a M-113 apc back in 1974-75. At that time, he told me those 20-20 mike-mike rounds were about $2.50 a piece. Times have changed...

Before hunting season, asked my son how he stood for ammo, he said he had one box of 06 and needed .243 ammo for my grandson"s first season. I was able to give him two boxes of .243. I traveled from Green Bay to Rhinelander and back, stopping at all the old gas stations and sporting shops. Finally found a dealer that just got a case (10 boxes) in. After a hard luck story and a lot of begging, he opened the case and sold me one box of 06 for $30.

Things haven't changed much after hunting season here.

Here's biden's proposed first assault on the Second Amendment. It will be much worse now that the democrats have control of 2 branches with plans to take the judicial branch soon.

When you are your own source of resupply, I am not sure how much ammo is plenty.

Seen the primer making process at Federal the work area was static free to avoid issues. I think if you make the wrong move it could get ugly quickly.

.70 per round is the lower end of pricing I've seen around here for 556/223.. Many places pushing towards a buck and selling a lot of ammo.. I see a couple of our larger shops have a significant inventory. Makes me wonder if there won't be another "on sale event" later in the year after everyone fills their stash. Happened with Obongo as I recall. I've not bought any in several years and won't need to in my lifetime. Primers in small pistol and small rifle are about non existent here. You can find large rifle and pistol fairly frequently.

I've spent a good bit of time in the reloading room here the last several weeks being quarantined and playing nursemaid.
