Third times the charm boys!! We caught our first Beaver today. It was in one of our 330's. Also caught a coon in a drowning set we had put out for Beaver. First drowing set I had ever done. Never skinned a Beaver before so I put it in the freezer till I have more time to skin it and get the castor out. I would say it weighs about 30lbs. Not sure if it's a male or female?

Yes sir. It is very cool. He was super excited. I thought the coon we caught on the drowner set was another Beaver before I pulled it up out of the water.

Yaaa Hoooo! Great time with the family. Way to keep them on right path. Congrats on your first beaver. Skinning isn't hard look at a couple videos and go at it. Make sure the kids get in on some of that skinning. Enjoy and take care

We caught another coon in the same drowing set. The first was a male. This one was a female.they were about the same size. Also had a 330 set off that was empty. Not sure how it happened but it wasn't even moved from where I had it set, just tripped.

Most often ba tripped 330 is the work of a rat or mink. Lot of times the ratvis knocked out and drowned near by.

Wish I had more time to trap....

I looked around and didnt see anything. But that's a possibility. Thought it was strange that the trap wasnt moved to much after it was set off.

Addicting, ain't it! I was out on the pond checking my traps today. Nothing, they won't go near my sets. Still had a great day. There's about ten inches of ice on that pond and eight or so inches of fresh snow. Sign was everywhere. Two otter came sliding by in my absence along with mink, fisher, fox, coyote, ermine and bobcat. Fisher and mink sign was insane. That season closed at the end of last month but it sure got me looking forward to next year.

Two more catches. Caught this beaver in same 330 set as the first one. Both about same size. Coon was caught in trail set.

Well we caught a big male otter this morning. It was in the Conibear 330 that had been set off before. It was caught by the back and back legs. Apparently I had left one of the safety's on one of the springs. Man that thing was still alive. That is one strong animal.

I measured from nose to tail 56" after I skinned it. It was a male.

You may want to consider tanning it. My biggest was 60" and it is hanging on the wall.
