Beaver trapping with no ice. How do you manage that? I wouldn’t know where to start.

That would make sense close to a river- you trap out the pond and a few months later someone comes by and decides it would make a perfect home.
Thanks for the ride along- we all appreciate it especially us guys who dont have beaver to trap anymore

Love the ride along posts Paul, thanks for letting us look at your line. I'm about 3 1/2 months away from open water yet. I know how it is up your way. Did I ever tell you the story about my open water beaver trapping on the AF base in Alaska when it was -20F? There's not much open water up that way when it's -20. I dont remember reading that Paul, would love to hear it though.

Paul, nice action! Just curious, for your main distance run, are you heading mostly east out onto the coastal plain? I think most Americans are clueless on how much wood comes out of the Southern coastal plain from east Texas swinging up to the Chesapeake Bay. One of the most productive commercial forests in the world!!

Nice drive around and thanks for everything you do. I get asked by my family and friends alot "is the thrill still there?". I tell them you betcha it is. It'll be a sad day when I hang up the chains. But hopefully I'll be able to live a little of it through this site and posts like yours

Thanks for sharing, i sometimes wonder what im doing, drive all day long just to get 12 traps out, lol. 2 to 3 per site but through the years i found those one or two spots is where all the beaver will get caught no matter how many traps you put out.

Nice. We don’t get many in my area that eat pine given that is such a common tree here. What surprises me more is some of the big harder birch the beaver go after. Good ride along, thanks.
