I ran across a thread over the weekend describing various scent post sets. I have searched the archives multiple times and for the life of me cannot find what I am looking for. The post described how posts were wrapped in fabric and scent applied. I have only recently started trapping with my two sons and have only used dirt hole sets. If any of you would mind pointing me in the right direction for how to make the set I’ve described I’d appreciate it. Again, I have read a ton on the flat set and scent post archives, but the one I’m looking for seemed very interesting to me. Thanks again. Grab and die sticks

How well does a cow paddy work when there are no cows around?

So most of our cows are factory housed. But I do have a guy who raises beef and they are out on grass. Can I pick up dry paddy's and store them someplace? We have cow chip throwing contests here In WI so it must be viable.

How well does a cow paddy work when there are no cows around? No problems using them with no cows around. Stack and store where ever, just keep'm dry.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

This is a set I made the other day using a post and cow skull, I tend to do this during rainy periods. The idea is to have the skull upside down showing the hole to the brain cavity with a bit of lure inside the hole so it doesn't get washed away with the rain. Last pic shows the skull partially buried in leaf litter on the right and I added the post on the left with the trap in between.

Here is a scent post Just made it. Gave it a squirt of SMC urine and moved on steeltraps, about how far from the scent post so you bed your trap?

We-Sa. I never get to hung up on how many inchs I put my trap back from the scent post. A bigger taller post I will But the trap back farther. If I had to say. I would quess about 8 to 9 inch back most of the time Thanks, that's what I figured but I was having a hard time getting the scale, right perspective on the second picture.
