In Pa, we’re not permitted to pick up dead heads. You can pick them up in Pa. $10 a point is or was the cost.

In South Dakota, you can claim them but a CO has to check out the location to make sure you didn't kill it. BUT in this case part of the state's semi secret (isn't listed in the reg book but you can get busted for it ) dead-head rules kicks in. Any buck skull with a 22 inch or greater inside spread, the state agency automatically gets it. They auction them off at their annual auction. That one would be worth some noticeable coin...

Since the state agency of SD pays the farmers for the crops deer eat and destroy that seems fair? I've never heard of SD GFP paying landowners for crops ate by deer or other wildlife. Maybe some South Dakotans with direct knowledge of this program can chime in. SD GFP will allow the liberalized killing of deer and other wildlife that are doing crop (including hay) "depredation". Signed up fora "depredation" hunt long ago, my idea of cutting out half formed fawns out of does isn't really my thing. No bucks are allowed to be killed during depredation hunts, only does and YOY, unless things have changed.
