I didn't know you could order a reg. 'base' truck as what we use to call them. Never did understand why they quit making just reg. ol trucks for people like me to work out of without all the caddilac crap on them and sell them for half what they sell the tricked out road riding junk for.
As for the topic, the ONLY reason your communist party is pushing/shoving this crap is because China makes all the battery's for them! They can pollute till their hearts content making this junk while we restrict all of our company's to the point they go out of business with climate change crap as the vehicle to do it.
As for running out of oil, just the balken find alone has enough to supply the country for 200 years! But run back to the 70s and claim we have to do something as we have used up all the oil on the planet. Was global cooling back then instead of global warming. I imagine that's what it will be again if we have a few cold winters. ANYTHING works to gain CONTROL which is all any of this is about. It's at least partially because some are looking toward the future. 200 years isn't even 3 generations. Gotta have other technology squared away before we do actually run out of oil. Happy trapping! ScottW You realize that’s not the only place there is oil, right?

Yes HT, well aware. I just believe it's never to early to start planning for the future. Planning takes time, and most plans take time to carry out. One could kind of like the idea somewhat like saving for retirement. You know it's coming someday (hopefully), and the longer you wait to start saving the steeper the curve to the top is.
So, we keep burning fossil fuels as we also work our buts off researching investing in transitioning to better options that let us continue on comfortably 500 years down the road. We will have failures and it will cost big $, but it's necessary. Not just for the betterment of our environment, but for the continued survival of mankind. Happy trapping! ScottW

99 percent This is because more than 99 percent of plastics are made from fossil fuels, both natural gas and crude oil—and because plastic results in greenhouse gas emissions at every stage of its lifecycle. No more plastic for da gubmint. Electric plastic only. "Plastics for Electric Vehicle Market Worth $2,621 Million by 2025 - Exclusive Report by MarketsandMarkets™" There goes the planet!

I find it absolutely pathetic that some actually believe that mankind has had any major effect on the planet or could have any major effect other than blowing it to smithereens and we don't even have the technology to do that. People are so full of themselves .This world could shake us off it's back like fleas whenever it wants and there is nothing we could do about it. Humans have been and will probably only ever be a blip in history. Not even long enough to be a pimple in earth history. Not even a good fart.

Guess it's safe to say we disagree on man's impact on the planet.! You might want to look up the number of years in a generation ScottW. True white dog, I was mistaken. I was thinking of it in terms of a generational lifespan! Closer to 7 generations I guess based on likely generational age in future years. Still a blip in time really. I'd really like to think man will be roaming the earth a couple thousand years from now. Happy trapping! ScottW

The automotive industry embraced the inevitable move to electric vehicles long before Biden was even a nominee. It is growing like a snowball rolling downhill. It will not be forced upon us, we will demand it. Just wait and see. The future of electric vehicles is coming.
Heck, just look at lawnmowers, power tools, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, LED lighting, new battery technologies, Only five years ago would you have dreamed of a 64V robotic lawnmower that was affordable and could remember the contour of a yard?

Electric cars will never be a viable source for transportation to any great extent. It's not going to be the way except for a very small niche like city dwellers. If people were serious about getting away from oil, the way to go would be hydrogen. Now that is an inexhaustible resource that can replace gas a probably even diesel. It could also be done in relatively short order. However, like most things, the powers that be do not want real solutions. And 40 years ago you’d have said there’s no way that 99% of the population would be walking around with personal supercomputers in our pockets today. Technology advances exponentially each year. I’m amazed by what the scientific world has achieved even in just my lifetime. Heck just in the last 15 years. I’m old enough to remember when the first phones came out that you could take pictures with, and then surf the internet. I remember the original Oregon trail game on the giant desktop computer. Look at how far we’ve come in just 30 years, you can’t seriously think that in 30 more electric cars won’t be mainstream. That is a good point, but you are asking me to accept the notion of being force fed a technology which is not yet viable. No Federal government agency forced me to buy a cell phone.

And nobody is even suggesting forcing you to buy an electric vehicle, either. The executive order applies to vehicles used by the federal government, nobody else.

If all of those items started with the turn of a key, they would still be gasoline. More elderly people and single women doing yard work is the reason all those items went electric.

They took Yard Darts off the shelf because people couldn’t figure out how to stay safe and some of you think we are going to have people riding around in vehicles powered by anti matter and nuclear power. lol

We got a long ways to go before that kind of energy can be put into that type of package. To run those miles in low temps. Perhaps on board solar chargers?? But that's not in a 30 -50 years time frame.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Time changes. Human nature doesn't. Technology is a marvel, but technology of any manner isn't the ultimate marvel on earth. Unless of course you believe it is. And many do. I do like light switches, trapping vehicles, and thermostats, whatever category the category police slot that in. Blessings, Mark
