I read he is at a safe house and they where advised by law enforcement not to disclose the location because of death threats. DA sent a letter to his house where he is not staying.

It's a shame what is going top happen to that kid now. Even if he beats the charges, which from the evidence I have seen he should, he will still be screwed with this new administration. They will probably come back at him with federal charges of denying those scumbag criminals their civil rights. People very rarely fight the feds in court. The penalties are usually huge and if you lose, they throw the book at you. Plus the government will throw every they have at you to make an example. Most people facing federal charges usually take a plea.
