You can adjust the pan but just to make it level. The pan does set below the jaws and the pan is night latched. There is really no need to adjust the pan tension I've never tried to. Just put some bowstring wax on the night latch button and wipe it so there is a thin coat. I have had medium size coon trip it. Yes the trap is all bolted together it is built like a tank.

There is a little piece of square stock welded to the jaw where the pan latch sits. Put bow wax and only bow wax on it then wipe it to leave a thin layer. Works like a charm. Don't do anything to the pan. It will night latch real nice and it won't be a hair trigger. You'll see it has a big pan and is a big heavy trap.

Very good beaver foothold. Dont need dyeing, waxing, dipping, painting.....it comes coated with hard black finish. Heavy duty, well made trap.

I just got the trap an stuff, no pan height adjustment, they set an spring very low, not far from frame, any issues with sand buildup in heavy beaver trap an keep pan from fire? In spring with sand an heavy beaver trap, I use paper sack as base under trap, not beaver traps N this one very hard to, I reach under pan an clean out under , so not keep pan from fire

There nothing wrong order, I don't have any dogless traps, maybe u can pry pan up, don't have in front me, not sure how easy bend, I call fnt an say no pan height adjustment, I have try out a half dz 1.5 of ko bfore decide if like more them , I couldn't quite set it with hands, if try harder gloves on probly, I used feet, I have setters but not like them as had slip an fly off a no. 5 , if u can pry pan height up, I wouldn't much as to much would not be easy bend other way, I might just leave it or try pry a little up, not sure how much sand under pan clog up drop , most but not all places are Sandy

Dave. There is a carrige bolt and nut attaching the pan to the frame. Loosen the nut and move the pan in or out to adjust the pan level/height. Email Kendall he can explain it better than I can but it is really simple. Note, it doesn't take a lot of movement to make adjustment I think I moved mine in about 1/16".

I clamped the jaws of the trap in the vise to keep it secure and loosened the nut with a 7/16 open end wrench and gently tapped a few times on the pan assembly and watched it move forward a tiny bit. I doubt if you even have to go a 1/16th of an inch. You can set it then and see if it meets your standards. Then just do all the others the same. It is a really quick and easy operation.

Turn the trap upside down and you will see a nut under the pan assembly on the frame. Loosen it with a 7/16th open end wrench and tap the pan assembly forward a hair. Set it and you will see that the pan sits much higher. This is on the KO Dogless Beaver Extreme trap.

U think fnt would know that but not, I never pay attention to it, I have play it tomma, not sure on pan tension if need to, loose an drop on own weight but I sprung twice an pull harder, I try stand on spring levers so dont spring in hand sledge hammer and see about how much weight trip pan, should got 2, but I have 3- no. 5 already, I only set 1- no 5 in fall an rest beaver got in 3 coils, in spring very little chance theft anywhere but in fall, expensive trap go let lay around , don't do much beaver trapping,, a little, did some in ditches an ask by few farmers that see me trapping if get beaver an did, 2 them, no appreciation at all, stolen traps last fall under bridge, an a culvert where ask to go at turn out be bs an told not to go later, a number yrs ago the county had complaint on dam an set traps, all stolen next day, some this stuff ridiculous, not sure if think ur gonna stand on top culvert an not go water an lower traps down from above with rope or sure of what, crazy
