Wife's 13 year old Maine coon withered away to nothing in the past month, had to put her down this afternoon.

Didn't realize how much I enjoyed petting that cat after getting home from work....

Sorry for your loss. Those are really beautiful cats. A few years ago at a party I met a guy who was a breeder. He showed some photos of his cats and I couldn't believe the markings on some of them.

I am sorry for your loss. Cats can make great pets. I love dogs, but my two favorite pets right now are cats, Iota and Rambow. Iota is laying on me now.

If you decide you want to make the long drive across Indiana, we have 3 kittens, that Diane bottle fed, that are extremely friendly, with motor like purrs.

Sorry to hear that. I used to hate cats until I came to understand indifference is about the best they can muster. Consider yourself flattered if one wants to be near you.

I'm sorry to hear it too. We have a 5 yr old cat that's breaking down in the hips and getting skinny. Cats are good, quiet companions. Much different than the dang Doberman next door.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I’m not a big cat person but I always favor a few if they are friendly, I have 2 wintering in the fur shed now Jr. spends his winters there and Pee Wee was the last one from a later litter that was sickly.

Sorry to hear.

Not really a cat guy but got a barn cat I'll probably never see the likes of again.

Rats, mice and even the occasional weasel don't stand a chance.

Sure are handy when you have livestock and chickens that attract that sort of pests.

That's a bummer. I like cats. We have two that are getting up there. We had to put two down a month apart a couple years ago one kitten and one a couple years old with cancer. It can tear you up.

The ones I like and give them a name don’t last long, it seems that something always happens to them. The buddy I have now Jr comes to me when I call him.

Sorry for your loss. I always feel cats are a lot smarter than we give them credit for.
We have an all black cat called Midnight. She talks incessantly, comes when you call her, and if you say something to her, she talks back every time. I think she understands me better than I understand her. crazy

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Thanks, guys.

This one really hit hard, cause she had this cat before the kids were even born, and we lost the last cat while my wife was pregnant with our youngest. I'm not 100% sure, but yesterday was almost 2 years ago to the day that we adopted our kitten, to help everyone cope. Just a couple months before losing the other cat, my parents put the dog down.

And here's the real kicker: the vet bill says "we treat your pets like family" followed by the entry of "euthanasia"..... my twisted mind latched onto that real quick.

It’s truly amazing how we become attached to our animals. Doesn’t matter if it’s dogs, cat’s or farm animals.

Saying goodbye isn’t easy.

A person sure can get attached to pets. I always say when one dies, I'll never get another, but seems too hard not to over time. Sorry.
