I bread and then pan fry a TENDER cube steak about a half inch think. Serve it with a side of home made hash browns and two eggs over medium. Top the browns and steak with sausage cream gravy. No other gravy works.

One of my favorites. Gotta be with brown gravy though

My favorite meal. When we eat out, that's usually what I'm eating. Nothing better than a chicken fry with mashed potatoes and gravy. When we make them at home, we use a tenderized flat iron steak. I think I'm going to go fix one for breakfast.

There are some folks that their cooking skills never advanced past the tube biscuits and a box of mac and cheese. Making good milk gravy is an art as is how to make lower cuts of beef taste good as well. I was lucky in my Grandma grew up during the depression and if it ran, flew swam or crawled she could make it decent tablefare.

What went wrong Finster?

Several restaurants hereabouts make a mighty fine chicken fried steak. Tender juicy steak inside flavorful crispy crunchy batter smothered in thick rich country gravy. Mmmmmmm!

Just ate three eggs, bacon and panfried red potatoes with onions, yet I'm drooling writing about them chicken fried steaks!

What would you do with all the Hot sauce if'n there was no CF steak? My favorite breakfast, gets better the farther west you go.

My first job was at a little cafe. The Friday night special was 16 oz hand cut ribeyes either grilled or chicken fried. By far the best chicken fried steak Ive ever had. They were so big we had to cut them in half to plate them. I think they cost $6.00 back then.
