I am purdy bad to spot and help someone by the road and it's not because I need a pat on the back. It's because they need me to do that and I myself have never had to walk.

Texans were not well prepared for this that is a given. That being said none of my claims so far built below sea level.

Not real sure how you prepare for a once in 70 years event, be different if such weather happened EVERY YEAR like up north. I guess i should be getting prepared for tornado season now, they're still cleaning up down the road from here from the last tornado that happened a month ago!

Not real sure how your suppose to prepare for everything you own being ran through a shredder.

It's impossible to plan for a freak of nature event, but some folks just get their satisfaction by kicking another man while he's down.

I just hope this sets back the green agenda and their idea that windmills, solar panels, and fairy dust will supply our energy needs.

Wasn't to many years ago we had a big ice storm in North Mich thousands without power for a week or more people living in schools, shelters, with friends that still had wood heat or generators and that kinda weather is not uncommon here as is being without power So i can have a lot of sympathy for an area that does not have that kin of weather What pizzez me off is the ones who tout Be Prepared Like they were when the Midwest flooded awhile back Oh ya That never happened Before

I understand some parts of Texas had massive amounts of freezing rain. That does cause lasting problems because of damage to electrical infrastructure. The last big ice storm we had caused a power outage that lasted about 20 days. I thought we had it bad until I talked to a friend from another part of the county that was out for almost 30 days. They had a small herd of dairy cows to boot.
