Out of all my Canadian traps I have more variation in the size two than any other. I will show pan stamps and spring stamps of my traps. If you have any other variations I don’t have it would be great if you would post pics of your traps to show off the whole line up.
I’ll start from earliest trap I have and go to next earliest in line.
Keep in mind the Canadian factory was only in operation under onieda community from late 1896-spring 1925.

This is the first pans as far as I know. I call these the small pans.

The spring stamp that goes with these is the arched oc stamp. [Linked Image]
These traps have a kenwood swivel they also have the thin square nuts on the base.

The next trap has same sized pan but what I believe is a two line Canadian spring stamp. This trap has a cut link chain and regular swivel.
[Linked Image]
The next trap has same stamp but a larger pan, this trap came to me with no visable spring stamps. So I dint show them.

Good Job .Nice to see this post rather than trying to use forums to value traps just to put money in the posters pocket.

Sorry guys hard to do all that off a cell phone. Mixed up the last two pans. They where both made in Canada pans anyhow.
Obviously iam missing the bears and by the way there is not one but two different kinds of Canadian bears.

Great traps Mike, Thank you for sharing them with us. I don't have a lot of Canadian #2's but I will look to see if I have anything different.

There may well be one or two others that I don’t have and don’t even know about. I have seen two traps one wolf and other bear had a different spring address yet. If it shows up in the Canadian twos it would be an earlier stamp with an earlier pan.

Can anyone tell me what year Newhouse switches from the small pans to the bigger ones? Iam guessing around 1904.

Mike, I think you are close on the small pan to large pan conversion. The #91 and 91 1/2 Newhouse both came out in 1905 and the #31 1/2 in 1906, all with small pans. In 1907, Oneida Community, Newhouse ads show large pans. Not all size necessarily changed at the same time but I would say 1907.
