Democrats screw up everything. Just caught my 5th otter. The last four the permit was crazy easy to get and cost 6.15 after their bogus convenience charges. The website is all different and much harder to navigate and they raised it to 9.50.

They charge you $9.50 for an otter tag????

I've always bought them over the counter at the farm bureau and paid $5.50 every time. Maybe that extra $4 is for buying over the internet?

Here in the Peach State, we call one of 6 regional offices, tell them how many bobcat and/or otter CITES tags we need, the county captured, how many males, how many females. They mail them to us postage paid by the state..........or I pick them up when I'm at one of the offices...

All they ever want is more.

Here we buy packs of 6 for $3 at multiple locations.

In NC, we have to get or order our otter or bobcat tags from the Raleigh Headquarters of our WRC. Cost is 2.20 each. We are required to get them tagged within 30 days of the close of season to sell or otherwise transfer.

We were able to get the time period extended from 10 days to 30 days a couple years ago. And the same year, we got it changed where any unused tags can be kept and used the following year.

Don't forget we have to buy the tag within 48hrs. You get a printed temporary tag then they send you a permanent tag. Can't wait for the possum tax.

Sounds like typical IL red tape so they can tax a person another way to Sunday.

We get two free per license as of this year.

That makes the one I sold for 20.00 worth 10.50 and the one I caught today, that I accidently nicked the flank with my knife, worthless.
