If the springs are still strong on them then I would have to say yes they will.

Nbr two dbl springs will hold a coyote but not recommended as small jaw space. The trap will hold a fisher with no problems providing you put some extra swivels in chain. Putting chain in middle of base plate would be good. The two springs keep solid grip on paw and ctr swiveling helps.

You can buy helper springs to stiffen up those stock springs. Wrap some copper wire around the helper springs to keep them In place. Then flux up that copper wire and solder every thing In place. Or cut a piece of 3/4" or 1" black pipe that Is just as wide as the spring end and place that in the spring and wire and solder that In place. Or stand the spring end on something solid and place a length of pipe In the spring and beat It so It reforms the spring end. This will give you more spring strength. But It's only a temporary fix. I prefer to leave the chain attached to the end of the spring. When you make a catch If the foot slides at all It's going to be pulled Into the tightest part of the jaws. So If your springs are a bit on the weak side this will help with a bit more holding power.

The springs just make the trap close faster so strengthening the springs will make a faster #2 longspring. The design of the double longspring vs a coil is where the trap gets some tenacious holding power. The eyes of the springs lock up around the jaws. This trap holds whatever gets in it, period, and will work well for fisher. The jaw spread is about same as a 1.5 coil so that is your foot to trap size reference. I still run a few #2 longs for coyotes around here in certain locations, they hold coyotes just fine but as mentioned the size/jawspread is on small side for coyotes. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Ethan. Those #2 s are brand new. Never set qith a light rust. Long spring and coil spring traps are very different in the way the springs are.
Long springs and coil spring traps are very different in the strength even as new.
Its sort of distributed differently.
I promise you theyre brand new

Ethan where do you plan on getting the long springs? I'm only asking because I love long springs.

Victors are good. B&Ls are better. I've held beavers in mine. Longsprings are more stable because of the surface area.
jabNE's mods are about right. I put a j hook through that hole in the frame with machine chain instead of twinloop. Hasn't been a problem, yet.
To clarify I've never trapped for Fisher but wouldn't feel out gunned.
