You should look into a future career in Animal Damage Control. That's where most of the money in trapping is and will be.

It's good to look into a lot of different careers that interest you. There are a fair number of guys here and on the ADC forum, that make decent, enjoyable livings trapping nuisance animals. Most also do exclusions and clean up and repair the damage done by animals.

You got that right. My church paid $23,800 for bat exclusion because 1 freakin bat was flopping around on the floor of the daycare. 1 bat got in and the state was called and sent 36 pictures of the same bat. They claimed we had a huge infestation and we had to call in the professionals.

I believe if my neighbor offered $40 to catch a rat I would be over there setting traps instead of posting on T-man.

I did a beaver job the same time I was doing a rat job last fall. I charged $200.00 for setting up the beaver job and $50.00 per beaver. I caught 4 beaver on the first check and I caught 18 rats on the same check. And charged them $200.00 + the $10.00 per rat. I didn't want to over charge them. LOL

It won't be long when I'll be back In there to do the rats again. Then I'll wait till June to take care of the wood chucks. That's $100.00 set up fee and $25.00 per chuck. I don't want to start to early on the chucks got to wait till the young are moving around. They don't pay for unborn chucks. LOL

I never complained about hound hunters charging for a hunt. My question was are these hound men required to be licensed If they are charging a fee.
I have no problem with them charging a fee. But I do have a problem with someone charging a fee If It's not legal to do so. And you should also have a problem with It.
If someone Is dumb enough to pay $4,000.00 for someone to kill a wolf for them then that's their problem.

Yes, you do need to be licensed. A guide license in WI. is 40.00. Be aware though when you purchase one. They automatically send that information to the state. You are now running a business and had better file it on your taxes. I have been a licensed guide for years. A lot more to it than just having a license.

Do you have to have any special license to charge people for trapping beaver and rats during trapping season?
