I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Most of the old Victor and BL traps are still going well made traps. The wife was looking at the shoreline that washed away the other day and found a old Victor #3 long that’s been there over 20 years plus that’s still strong.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Blake & Lamb and Montgomery are my favorites. X2 B&L longsprings and Montgomery coilsprings (if you choose the right ones)

Not even debatable. However, if you want to exclude Newhouse from the question, then hands-down I would argue the old Blake and Lamb, 1970's and earlier. The springs had a little different bend to them than any of the other brands that prevented them from wearing out and getting weak.

Use to use them for coon in the 80's

I find it interesting that people consider Northwoods traps to be vintage. They are relatively newcomers on the steel trap scene. They started in the late 1970s.
Lots of brands were around 100 + years ago - Diamond, Gibbs, Triumph, Mascot, East Set, Kompact, Kangaroo, Sta-Kawt, Sargent, Crescent, Arrow, Eclipse, the list goes on and on and on.

Wissmiss according to a local flea market a duke 1 3/4 with a pound of rust is vintage.
