NYS Police finally admitted they lost a AR 15 somewhere along Rt 9 in Warren County. It was not stolen but lost by a trooper. This is the same police agency tasked with enforcing the SAFE Act, yet they can’t even account or properly handle their own firearms. They are asking the public’s help in finding the rifle.

Imagine that, they have the best leader at deceiving the public, so it comes easy!

I suspect it wasn't their rifle to lose. Why would L.E. have a semi version of an auto rifle???????????????

I would start by searching the house of the cop who "lost" it. After all, if he "has nothing to hide he shouldn't care".

Not the first time this has happened . 2018 Trooper lost a AR 15 near Olean, NY south of Buffalo. Rifle has not been recovered.
And yes , troopers are responsible for their firearms, so it was their rifle to lose.

So far as I know, here in KS, cops all use M16's for a rifle. The feds provide them as the rifles get retired from military use. The assault teams all have a sniper or two. I have no idea what they use. About 20 years ago the sheriff we had at the time, got in some trouble. The sheriff and his snipers were going on prairie dog shooting trips in S.D., calling it training, several trips a year, and tax dollars were paying the bill.

I still say look at the officer who "lost" the gun first. He should be fired no matter if the gun shows up or not.

You have to remember this is Andy( I didn’t know it was wrong to grope you) Cuomo’s NY, Troopers and Correction Officers do not have M 16’s, they are issued AR 15’s.

Mason City Iowa, a full auto was stolen from what I believe was a US Marshal vehicle. Soon after Parkland shooting. Not sure if ever recovered and possible that vehicle was unlocked.

the ATF lost all sorts of Full Auto hardware in Milwaukee under the OB admin faster and firuiser.

ATF agents set up a fake shop paying more than retail for used guns to try and get people in straw purchases ,buy a gun and take it strait over to the ATF shop to sell it for 20% more than you paid.

well they got figured out and all their vehicles parked in the ally broken into and they lost all that hardware

"oh just give us all you your rights and we will protect you" how can that be every-time anything is given up it us abused with no greater safety

Many of the M16s are blocked from full auto that are given out to departments.

Because the bad guys have them, I would rather take a rifle to a gun fight than any pistol. Max effect range of most pistol, 75 yds, rifle
most 150 yds plus. Most shooting with a pistol in 40 feet or less.
