Do they do their own fur tanning or do they send it out to a commercial tannery and add on a handling fee? Be sure to compare prices before you decide to use a taxidermist or some other type company.

NOTE - I am NOT running down Arlington Cape. I’ve never heard of them. I’m only saying that many taxidermists say they do tanning when in fact they don’t. They make a profit off some one else’s work.

Arlington does their own tanning. Pretty sure the owner is a member here too. Their tanning is top notch, and I can trust them with taxidermy capes as well. Unlike other places...
I’ve never known of a taxidermist to claim they do flat/soft tanning. When they say they do their own tanning that means they tan their own taxidermy items. Its two different things. Any taxidermist will tell you they send wall hangings out, its not a secret. Most customers have no idea how to go about it.

I think the guy from Sleepy Creek actually came to Ohio to learn from Keith at Arlington Cape. I have some fur there now.

Dirt , I do remember using a few atv straps or some kind of straps to help in the rolling and cinching down . I slid the roll into the tube partway , released one strap and continued until they were all in . It was a snug fit .
