Just sharing what I came up with- I'm interested in an economical option to set flags for tree planting, border marking, etc. The diggers hotline guys and surveyors probably have a more efficient but higher priced gun style for insertion.
I dropped the flag on the ground, placed an old school dandelion digger about 1" from the base and pressed it in the ground. It gives you a nice angle that holds the flag securely in the ground and should be a back saver. I saw a similar tool tip that sells for $40- I'm interested in any better methods??

Cool idea. I happen to live in a small town that has a family owned flag making company. They are the largest maker in the US.

nope, that's how Dad taught us to do it bout 30 yrs ago, glad yer on board now, and they are reuseable once pulled after the project is done

The 4' rolling spray painter is handy too, but can't be reused of course.
