With this warm spring and early ice out I think the beaver will start shedding early. I haven't seen it yet, but I doubt fur in my area will hold up until the end of season April 30.

Once the ice is gone and the water starts to warm up they go downhill quickly.
You will see it on the leather side of the dried pelts-they will start to get shady in the flanks and neck once they start shedding.
