I have a pile of .30-06 surplus ammo from ‘68-69 and ‘70.

A bunch loose in boxes and a bunch loaded in enblocs.

All still in the tins.

What sort of value per round do you suppose a guy could put on it?

Look at gunbroker and go by the bids not the buy it now prices.

Find a local auction company that is known for selling guns, ammo and gun accessories and sell online and let them sell it. ive seen 30-06 ammo going for 1.5 to 3.00 per round on online auctions. the em-blocks are bringing 1.50 to 3.00 each

US or import ammo? US will most likely be LC or WRA on the headstamp. Import stuff comes from just about everywhere, Greece, Egypt, Israel, etc. Some is better than others.

I just bought a can of 500 rounds of Serbian 30.06 for $720 for my newly aquired M1 Garand. Comes out to about $1.45 per round

if they are enbloc, CMP ball ammo, yes

I have a few 30-06, rounded soft point

Are they the Black tip ammo?

It looks to all be US manufacture..
