I want to ship some fleshed and dried pelts to get tanned . Can dried pelts be folded or rolled or something to get in smaller box for shipping ? Or will that hurt pelts since are crunchy dry

When I ship mine to auction they are folded to make room in the bag. They are only folded once though. Don't know how much you can get away with.

I'd drive them over to Ben at Sleepy Creek Tannery in Wellman and see if he'll give you a tour of the place. I did before and it's very interesting!

I never had an issue folding pelts. What I try to do is get a box, wrap the largest of the pelts around the inside perimeter, then wrap descending sizes as I go toward the center of the box. I just shipped some beaver to Z&L last week.....got a 12”x 4’ cardboard concrete tube at Home Depot. Rolled up 7 big beaver and slid into tube.
