I just bought some purple No Trespassing signs today. I also saw some purple No Hunting or Trespassing signs that had a line on the bottom of the sign in Spanish, saying the same thing. If the Spanish version works, maybe we could put those up at the border.

I've never seen anything about purple paint in the regs, here in WI. Don't ever remember anyone talking about it (family and gun club) and nothing in hunter's safety. X2 I haven't heard of it either. I guess we're living in a more competent state. I'm not sure someone that can't read should be hunting. Up next we'll have No Hunting signs in braille.

So what do you do if someone else purchases the land and doesn't care or welcomes hunters on their property? Do they paint over the purple with a different color? Cut the purple trees down? Or if they want hunting but with permission only?
The bitterness of poor quality last a lot longer than the sweetness of low price

Guess you’re not as competent as you think. Some of you go out of your way to be jack azzes even when you don’t know what the discussion is even about.

There are lots of painted trees in the areas I hunt in north-central Pa. One tract of about 3,500 acres is a timber company holding that has been actively logging for the last six to eight years.
Some markings they use are vertical lines about three feet long from the ground up for select cut areas. That allows the timber cruiser to see that the crews are only cutting what he marks. Diagonal double slashes mark cut area boundaries and W's mark trees not to be cut in areas where most everything else is.
Different color blazes mark different property boundaries, the Pennsylvania Game Commission uses white. three vertical dots in any color signify a property corner.
Eh...wot?

No trespassing posters get vandalized all the time. It can be a full time job just keeping posters up. The purple paint law put a quick stop to that. Couldn't a person just paint over the purple with whatever the " welcome to hunt " color is ?

Here in NC I'm pretty sure the purple paint no trespassing only applies to hunters and fishermen. Doesn't apply to people not hunting or fishing. If you're hunting or fishong behind the paint, there are no excuses to be made, they will not allow excuses.

I've heard of it but I don't think very many around here have. It's not used anywhere that I've seen around here. I'm not sure why anyone would bother. Its illegal to trespass without permission, marked or not. Same here. I've heard of it but have never seen it used.
